The much-awaited trailer of “Masti 4”, the latest film in the popular Masti franchise, was released on Tuesday. However, many fans expressed disappointment after watching it. Unlike the earlier Masti movies that became famous for their bold comedy and entertaining storylines, the new trailer has failed to impress audiences and has faced heavy criticism on social media, reports Bollywood Life.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, “After doing so many movies like this, I wonder how they face their families. If there was a genre called ‘cringe,’ this trailer would be at the top. Anyway, let’s trust the audience maybe they’ll enjoy it. After all, it’s just for fun, right?”
In response, the film’s director Milap Zaveri replied, “Ma’am, please watch the film. You might be surprised. The female characters and their perspectives are very strong in this movie.”
Despite his defense, many online users called the trailer “cheap,” “vulgar,” and “unoriginal.”
The story of Masti 4 is said to follow a “reverse Masti” concept instead of only husbands being involved in affairs, this time wives are also shown engaging in extramarital relationships, leading to a sort of competition between the two sides.
The movie stars Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri, and Arshad Warsi, among others. Masti 4 is set to release on November 21, 2025.
