The life you imagined was never a deadline

What if not becoming who you thought you’d be... is exactly where you’re meant to be?

There’s a quiet kind of pressure that many of us carry the feeling that we’re not quite living the life we were supposed to. Maybe you thought you'd be further along in your career. Maybe you imagined you'd be in a different place, emotionally or financially.

Maybe you’re not even sure how you ended up here at all.

I used to compare my current self to the version of me I thought I’d become. I had expectations some clear, some vague about what life would look like by now. And when reality didn’t match, I felt like I was falling behind No one told me that part of growing up is quietly grieving the future you once imagined. It’s a strange, silent sorrow—one that doesn’t get spoken about much because nothing is really wrong. Life just... slipped through my fingers in ways I never expected.

For a while, I kept this to myself. I thought maybe I was the only one who felt this way. But over time, I realized so many people around me were feeling the same. We’re all silently measuring ourselves against some invisible, unattainable version of success.

We’re all wondering if we’re enough yet.

Letting go of that imagined version of myself wasn’t easy.  It still isn’t.  There are days when I feel like I’m chasing shadows trying to catch up to something that keeps moving. But slowly, I’ve started to focus less on who I was supposed to be and more on who I actually am right now. I’ve learned that  it’s okay to change direction

It’s okay to not have everything figured out.  And  it’s okay to rewrite your story, even if it looks nothing like the one you once dreamed of. You’re not failing just because life took a different path. You’re not broken just because your journey doesn’t mirror someone else’s.

You’re living and sometimes, that means growing in ways you never expected. So if you’re feeling stuck, behind, or not enough, I hope you’ll give yourself permission to release the old timeline the one that told you where you should be by now. You don’t owe anything to the person you thought you’d become.

You owe it to yourself to live fully as the person you are. And that is and always will be more than enough.
