It’s not always “how you look” but “how they view you”

“Not everyone reads you the way you read yourself.”

A few days ago, I borrowed a novel from a friend. My classmates had praised it so much, so I thought it must be something special. There I was, sitting in a corner of my room, planning to study organic chemistry, when my reptilian brain whispered, “Check it out.” So I did. Slowly, slowly, skipping phrases and scenes, and somehow I ended up reading almost 68 pages. But what was fascinating ? Nothing.

The same book everyone praised felt completely overhyped to me.

And honestly, the same goes for people.

Some people might notice your scars, but some will praise the story behind them.

Some will see failure, while others will see effort.

For some, you might be a villain. For others, a hero.

Some will call a simple boundary like “no handshake with male cousins” as your arrogance while some will recognize it as their own ignorance.

Some will judge your silence as “felt nothing,” while others will see it as a quiet protest.

Same person, same actions, same you … but people look through different angles and hold different interpretations.

Sometimes they are right, but not always. That is why it’s better to label and check yourself by yourself.
