Why Is Gen Z So Depressed?

Ever wondered why the “most connected” generation is also the most lost, most anxious, and most depressed? Maybe we are so connected that connection itself has lost its meaning. Maybe we all are chasing the ideal we created in us & expecting too much, too fast, from ourselves and others. Or maybe it is the race for "more," the addiction to comparison, the obsession with perfection, the mask of viral trends. But in this race, we lose …. not just the right path, but ourselves, in the crowd or in the chaos we created. No one has a perfect life.

The lives of the Prophets were far tougher than ours, and many souls today like the children of Palestine … roam through rubble & smoke, searching in the trash for a piece of bread, left over or even rotten. And we? Still complaining, "Why didn’t I have pizza for dinner today?" While they are looking for clean water. "Did you have your morning coffee or tea today?" Pause. Just look around. You will notice many things you once wished for are already there… waiting to be noticed.

Quran 4:32 And do not crave what Allah has given some of you over others. Men will be rewarded according to their deeds and women ˹equally˺ according to theirs. Rather, ask Allah for His bounties. Surely Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.

Be grateful. You may not have everything, but if you look around, you might realize that what you do have is everything someone else is praying for.
